7halos1 October 17, 2011 at 10:31 pm

@BoomHeadshott123 it has up and down wobble and ? its made from 7005 Aluminium

BoomHeadshott123 October 19, 2011 at 4:31 pm

@7halos1 Is that? bad?

th3gentlegiant October 19, 2011 at 8:13 pm

@bigbassdave what i usually do is take off the tire and rim strip and then loosen all the spokes to a point where they are all the same distance into the nipple (taking off the tire and rim strips lets you see spoke in the nipple). once thats done i tighten them all equally until all the spokes are tight. doing this will also get side to side wobble out. the? rim wont be PERFECT but it will be alot better. i fixed a rim that a shop told me was beyond fixing by doing this.

bigbassdave October 19, 2011 at 8:19 pm

@th3gentlegiant Thank you dude :D . i got it near enough straight doing this… but? its just got a big egg in it :/

th3gentlegiant October 19, 2011 at 10:36 pm

@bigbassdave you might have untightened the spokes unevenly. if you spend the time and? totally untighten each spoke and tighten it back 1-2 turns. then you are positive each spoke is at the same distance into the nipple. then tighten evenly again.

bigbassdave October 19, 2011 at 10:40 pm

@th3gentlegiant? but its perfetctly true, its just got a egg

th3gentlegiant October 20, 2011 at 12:16 am

@bigbassdave by egg you mean vertical hop? and if so, my method? still applies. and if the rim is perfectly straight, check that the tire is perfectly seated on the rim. thats a common cause for eggs

bigbassdave October 20, 2011 at 12:20 am

@th3gentlegiant yes mate, and the tyre is perfect. when the rim is on the? floor you can see the horizontal bit thats how bad it is.

th3gentlegiant October 20, 2011 at 1:20 am

@bigbassdave that may just be a flat spot then. those are incredibly hard to get out. ide just live with it.? you wont notice it while riding. if it doesnt drop more than 1/2″, then ur good to go. if its more, still ride it =p im currently riding a rim with a bad seam and its still good strong. a flat spot is nothing to worry about

bigbassdave October 20, 2011 at 1:33 am

@th3gentlegiant yes, its a flatspot mate. and i can feel it when im riding, but not enough to effect my riding its just annoying? going to and from the skatepark lol. thanks for all you’r help mate, good luck with riding. have a good day.
